Struggling with chronic pain due to the demands of a desk job and the physical toll of a farming lifestyle, he found unparalleled relief in just one session of Thai massage, an outcome that had eluded him despite numerous visits to Registered Massage Therapists (RMT). The profound impact of this single massage sparked Grant's curiosity and eventually evolved into a passionate endeavour. Inspired to introduce Thai massage to a broader audience in Canada, he meticulously crafted a business plan.

In January 2017, Grant made the courageous decision to transition from his prior career and fully commit to the world of Thai massage. Trusted Saskatoon team ran a contest on the Trusted Saskatoon Facebook page at the end of 2018 to find a new category for the Trusted Saskatoon directory. We received 100's of nominations, from children's activities to fencing. However, there was a clear winner; with over 200 nominations, we were thrilled that the new category was Trusted Saskatoon NON-PROFITS!

This was such a good fit, as we have always had a strong community focus; in fact, Trusted was proud to be recognized as the recipient of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce ABEX Award for Community in 2017.

In the fall of 2023, we felt it was time to extend the love, and we said farewell and good luck to two of the Saskatoon Non-profits we had supported and promoted for 5 years as Trusted Partners, Saskatoon Kinette's and SCAT- Street Cat Rescue. We are thrilled to announce that The Kinsmen Foundation - TeleMiracle is our newest non-profit partner.

We are grateful to have a wonderful relationship with the folks at The Kinsmen Foundation here in Saskatoon. Our sister company, Trusted Marketing Services has been working with The Foundation for the last 10 months, helping them with social media and other marketing pieces, and a past Trusted Saskatoon team member, Carman Praski, is the Fund Development Manager. Carman introduced us to the organization in 2022, and we are in awe at all they do for this province! We look forward to helping them reach even more people through our networks and assisting them in raising as much money as possible through the 2024 TeleMiracle Telethon, which takes place in Regina February 24th and 25th.

PickNic's Catering & Fine Foods has been a trusted name in Saskatoon for culinary excellence for over 20 years. As we celebrate them reaching their 10-year milestone with Trusted Saskatoon, we take a journey through their inspiring story of passion, dedication, and community involvement.

PickNic's Catering traces its roots back to April 2003, when it started operating as PickNic's Bakery and Bistro. It wasn't long before their delectable offerings gained a dedicated following. In 2004, they moved to 22nd Street East and rebranded themselves as PickNic's Restaurant and Fine Pastries, where they continued to delight patrons with their sumptuous pastries and exquisite dishes for the next five years.

In 2009, PickNic's embarked on a new chapter as they moved to 33rd Street West. With this transition, they redirected their focus towards event catering and crafting wedding cakes that would leave a lasting impression. This change in direction marked the beginning of a new era for the establishment, one that would see them become a cherished fixture in Saskatoon's catering landscape.

Nicola Lawson

At the heart of PickNic's Catering is the passionate and talented owner Nicola Lawson. Nicola's journey to Saskatoon was marked by many globetrotting adventures, working at various establishments worldwide within the food industry. Her travels eventually brought her to Saskatoon, where she decided to put down roots and share her culinary expertise with the local community.

Nicola is not just a culinary expert; she's also deeply involved in the community professionally and personally. Her engagement with numerous organizations and smaller community groups reflects her commitment to making a positive impact. As a mother of two girls, Nicola is equally passionate about shaping a bright future for them, emphasizing exposure to travel, language, diverse extracurricular activities, and multicultural events.

Krista Fehr

More recently, the dynamic Krista Fehr joined the PickNic's team. With over 25 years of experience in the foodservice industry and a Red Seal journeyperson cook, Krista brought some fresh energy to this culinary catering dream team alongside Nicola. Together, they've brought creativity and innovation to the business, enhancing its reputation for excellence.
